Hi my name is Xahnn-Georgia Reid and I am a recent graduate of Johnson C. Smith University where I got my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Many of my classes included child and adolescent development, physiology and pathology. I have been a child care provider for over 10 years; babysitting newborns to toddlers and supervising teenagers. In addition I had babysat and supervised more than one child/teenager at a time, the most was 4 children at any given time from one household. Within those years I have co-founded a Mentorship program for teenagers and children with guardians/parents who were and/or are incarcerated. I organized athletic and social activities for the children after which I expanded my services to the elders in the community. I tutored Math and Reading to the elders who didn't get the opportunity to learn to read and write. Since coming to the United States in 2009, I Read more have babysat for friends and family and then branched out to other families. Typically my duties entailed, cooking, tutoring, laundry and light cleaning. Most of the times I babysat both in the United States and Jamaica, I stayed overnight or for weekends. I enjoy watching children play and learn; I endorse outside play especially with animals as I know it’s the first step to social development and good communication skills.
