I understand the dynamic of working parents. It is a challenge to be an effective career oriented individual when you are concerned about your child(ren) care. I have a 4 y/o son and many friends who have young children that I provide help for from time to time ranging from afterschool care, date nights, and homework/special project help. I was a teacher & child care provider for 13 years and decided to leave the school system to teach and care for children independently. I wanted the flexibility to care for children, spend time with my child (4y/o boy), and to be a blessing to another family who are seeking positive, nurturing, flexible, and safe child care environments. I have taught grades Pre-K (in child care setting) through 5th. I taught PK for 3 years, K for 3 years, and 1st grade for 5 years. I am first aid and CPR Read more certified, I have a BK-6 active teaching license, I have a clear criminal background check, perfect driving record (yay!), and last year was my school’s Teacher of the Year. Below is an excerpt of my philosophy of education: I believe learning best occurs when the values of wisdom, creativity, and love are used to teach. With wisdom, I look to the future and see the effect that my teaching will have on these children, and thus adapt my methods to fit the needs of each one. With creativity, I prepare new and interesting projects that can challenge my students and expand their minds to set higher goals and dream loftier dreams. With love, I praise my students for jobs well done and encourage them to get up and go on when they fail.
