I am a 23 year old biology graduate who has just returned to the US after traveling the world for 15 months. I have an older brother who is mentally disabled and younger sister, so I have grown up in an environment where responsibility for those around me was very encouraged. In the past, I worked with an 18 year old boy with severe down syndrome. I met him at his bus stop after school and drove him home. There John Paul and I would have a snack and then play games, read, or take Charlie (his special assistance dog) for a walk. I was also responsible for taking care of Charlie and making sure he stayed up to date with his training, which was no problem because I love dogs! A lot of my work with John Paul was encouraging him to interact with others. I worked with John Read more Paul from August 2012 - June 2013. Prior to that I babysat three children on weekends for two years; ages 5, 8 and 10 when I first started watching them. We frequently went to the neighborhood pool and playground and also mastered outdoor chalk drawing!
