I love caring for and playing with kids! Most of my life has revolved around kids: babysitting, tutoring, working at camps, and teaching. I have been a babysitter for a number of families for a variety of ages, from infants to teens. Most of the families I have sat for have had two kids, but I have worked with only children families and those with three kids. My duties have typically consisted of entertaining the kids, meal preparation, helping them with reading and/or homework, taking them to activities if necessary, getting them ready for bed, etc. I really enjoy being active with children, whether that means gallivanting at the park, playing soccer or catch, choreographing a dance (I usually let the kids take the lead), swimming, or even just playing Duck Duck Gray Duck in the living room. After completing my freshmen year of college, I worked full-time at an Read more elementary school in New York City for a national non-profit organization called City Year, similar to Teach for America. During my year working as a teacher, tutor, and mentor, I gained valuable knowledge and experience relating to education. As such, I enjoy helping kids with their homework, and, in particular, helping foster an appreciation for reading. My philosophy is that my job is to take your place when you cannot be there, which means my priorities are keeping your kids safe, healthy, and happy!

I am so lucky I found Christina to assist me with my daughter during my absences. Christina is a big help. She is reliable, warm and very respectful of any house rules, schedules, requests and etc. I did not have to worry about my child being supervised, fed and also entertained. Christina sat for my two boys several times this summer. I have been very impressed by her level of professionalism (she kept a notebook with information about the kids, meals, toys, house rules, etc.). She did a great job with two very energetic little people and didn't hesitate to play what they wanted to play -- even when it was "hide under the blankets" or go to the neighborhood wading pool. She's very nice, easy to talk to, and a good communicator. My boys like her a lot and we hope to continue enjoying her excellent sitting in the future. Highly recommended.

Christina has babysat for my two-year-old son a number of times over this summer. We feel extremely comfortable leaving our son with her. When she arrives she always greets my son first with a smile and comment about what they are going to play or do. She also always asks us if there have been any changes in diet/schedule/toileting since the last time she babysat for him. She is great about helping him to make the separation from us when we first leave, and then keeps him busy and happy while we are gone. When we return home and she has left, our son will continue to ask after her. He obviously enjoys his time with her. Christina is a very responsible and caring babysitter; we look forward to having her back in our city next summer, so that she can babysit for us again!
