I have always wanted to be a mom. When I was older and realized that you have to actually work in the real world, I discovered being a nanny! It's just always made sense to me. Children are the truth tellers in the world and I prefer to spend my time in the company of people that see wonder everywhere they look. It makes each day worth waking up for. I attended Sullivan University for one year in 1991 as part of a nanny certification course and then immediately after found myself a mom and wife. I stayed home for 12 years, raising my own three children and then when it came time to return to work, this was such an obvious choice for me. I worked for three years with a family where the mother was dying from cancer (and did die during my tenure) and so it was Read more a special, all encompassing position where I was a second mom of sorts. My job rapidly didn't have a description and I just did what was needed - shopping, school enrollment, doctor appointments, clothes buying, haircuts, housework, car repairs, etc. Soon they were older and didn't need full-time care so I relocated but they are still very much a part of my life. As a mom, well, I have been at this for 18 years and still find things that amaze me every single day.
