As a child I grew up helping my mom care for my three younger cousins. Fast forward to high school, and I became involved in environmental education, which led me to attend Montreat College as an Outdoor Education major. Throughout this time I have fallen more and more in love with holistic education and early childhood education. For three semesters I taught nature lessons to students age 2-5 at the Montreat Morning School, and currently I have been volunteering at the Asheville Forest School (ages 3-4). I feel strongly that children should be guided and taught in a loving, encouraging, and respectful manner that helps them to develop their skills, build relationships, and develop a love for learning. I believe that childhood is a magical time in life and that every person has unique gifts to offer. My goal is to help people discover and develop those gifts. Certifications: I am currently in the process of becoming CPR certified as part of a Wilderness First Responder Course. Althought I will not receive the certification until May, we have already covered the CPR material and training.
