Hi ! My name is Susan, and I am the mom to 4 terrific young adults! My youngest is a teenager and the older three are beautiful, successful young ‘20-somethings’. I love being a mom, and was blessed to be able to stay home when the children were young. I am originally from Richmond, Virginia, and have lived in NC since 2004. I love living in New Bern; being near water is very therapeutic for me I am an animal lover, and have raised German Shepherds, kittens, bunnies, chickens and horses. I especially love big dogs… we currently have a Lab/Golden mix and a sweet brindle boxer. What I love about infants is snuggling and rocking, working on basic milestones, floor time play and reading to them. In return, I get smiles and sweet baby language ! Toddlers have a mind of their own, and love to test the Read more boundaries of all adults. Most two and three year olds are crafty beyond belief, and very obstinate… I find it amazing to see what they will do to try and get their way ! Preschoolers and young school age children are learning so much so quickly. I love to read to and with them, and have deep discussions about whatever intriques them and inspires their imagination. I also believe that children love to be helpers (considering age and ability). Giving them simple chores and responsibility around the house, provides them with a sense of confidence and purpose. My availability is very flexible. I love being able to schedule weeks and months ahead of time, if possible.
