I am 43 years old & have no children. In 1998 I was in a car accident that resulted in a broken femur & me learning to walk again. The hardest thing I have ever done in my life was seeing my ex-husband through cancer treatments. I have 2 sisters, a brother, a half- brother & 2 step brothers. I rent a house from my grandparents in Shelby because I like to have a home base close to my family. My parents, grandparents & siblings all live within approximately 10 minutes of me. We are a very close family & spend as much time together as we can whether it’s for holidays or just to hang out by the pool. When I'm in Charlotte I often stay with friends just to ease the travel time & distance, although it’s not an issue, I traveled over an hour to work for Read more many years. I come from a large family & it seems like I was always helping out babysitting for someone’s children while growing up. When I started college at UNC Charlotte studying elementary education I met several families, including Karen G. that I babysat for on a regular basis. From there I was introduced to a family, the Reid’s, that needed regular help through the week & I worked for them for several years until they moved. Through an agency I met Mike & Stacy & started working for their family watching their son, Noah. During this time I became part of their family & will always view Noah as “my kid”. Noah & I stay in frequent contact but when he started boarding school it broke my heart. I thought that I was ready for a career change at that time & ventured into retail. I was highly mistaken. I missed having a purpose & the joy that working with children bring to your day. In August 2013 I met Michelle & became a full-time live-in nanny for her 2 girls. I worked Monday- Friday & lived in her house during those days thru March 2018. I feel blessed to have spent the last 20 years working as a nanny with these 3 families. I only hope that I'm half as fortunate with a new family as I've been in the past. During my years working I've worked a range of jobs ranging from babysitting, full & part time childcare, travel care, pet care, house sitting, cleaning & organizing services, medical recovery care cooking, companion care & driving duties. I find the pay range question difficult to answer. Pay depends of responsibilities & requirements of an individual job.
