I had about 4 years of experience caring for kids in my neighborhood in late middle school and through high school from new borns all the way up to pre-teens. The most consistent babysitting job I had in high school was for a coach who had a 1-year-old and a new born, plus a crazy dog. Feeding, nap time, and dog walking were all part of the gig and I had a blast! Then in college I was an after school nanny for a family with three kids ages 4, 10, and 11 for almost three years. My responsibilities throughout this time included taking kids to and from after-school activities and sports, assisting with homework, cooking dinner/general house maintenance and clean up, and (on last nights) bedtime prep, ie. baths, toothbrushing, story time.
