I am a 23 year old graduate student at Boston University where I am earning my MS in speech-language pathology. Before graduate school, I worked part time at a child care center in Portsmouth, NH for a year and a half with children between the ages of 8 weeks through elementary school. Mostly, I was a support teacher for infants and young toddlers. I have also worked for individual families over the years, including an infant, twin toddlers, and a preschool-age child. I am CPR/First Aid/AED qualified through the Red Cross. With children of all ages I generally try to incorporate art work into our day somehow. Whether it's with a 7 month old finger painting for the first time or creating a storybook with a seven year old, I love getting creative! I also highly encourage reading at any age. With infants, I try to read to them many Read more times a day as research suggests that reading is extremely beneficial to language development. With young toddlers, I encourage them to pick out books for us to read and to point out things they see in the book that they might find interesting. This is a huge asset for language learning. With older children, I try to help them read on their own as much as possible and explain new words to them. Finally, I try to set a very steady routine for the child. I go into the house with a game plan for day and I find that, with infants, it helps them feel more secure with me and, with older children, it stabilizes the day and gives them activities and projects to look forward to. They always want to see what's in my bag! I am looking for a job for this summer between my first and second year of graduate school. I will be at a placement at Elliot Hospital three days/week and therefore would only be able to work part time T/Th and occasional weekends. If you have a question about anything concerning my experience please contact me! *I am CPR/First Aid/AED qualified through the Red Cross*

Sarahanne is an attentive, responsible, and capable babysitter. She is an outstanding young woman with a positive and enthusiastic nature. We loved having her watch our eight month old son and wish she lived closer so we could see her more often. Jennifer Spaziano Hope, RI
