Hi there! My name is Nicole and my passion is working with kids. I have spent the past five years as a professional nanny. During that time, I have gained valuable experience and knowledge with each family I've worked with. I have become very comfortable caring for children ranging from newborn to age 17. I would describe myself as an energetic, caring, organized and detail oriented individual. I am a person who is willing to take initiative. I take a great amount of pride in my responsibility to care for someone else's children, teach them, mold them and keep them safe. I understand that I am an extension of the parents when they are gone and I take being a positive role model very seriously. Aside from the business aspect of it, I love to have fun and be silly with the kiddos. I thoroughly enjoy planning fun activities that Read more keep them interested, engaged and learning. Whether it be an arts and craft project or a trip to a local museum or exhibit. I do put a great deal of effort into planning my time with the kids so they get the most from it. A typical day with me would include some structure and routine depending on the preferences of the parents. I like to include circle or story time, where we read books, sing songs, play games or go over a calendar. I personally don't promote screen time but I have no issue with it being integrated if kids and/or parents prefer it. I encourage outdoor play to promote gross motor develop and exercise. I personally am a big fan of playing sports and like to share that knowledge with the kids. I typically plan a couple activities which may include games, arts and crafts, sensory play if appropriate, cooking projects, gardening or science experiments. I have worked with preschool and school aged kids reading a calendar and morning message as well as making a Letter of the Week curriculum. Prior to becoming a nanny, I spent three years working in a Preschool and K-12 school in a long term substitute teaching position. My first career began in the health field. In high school I started out as a LNA and retired from practicing as an RN in my late twenties. During that time, I worked in Orthopeadics, Emergency Department, Pediatrics and ICCU. I also taught several skills certifications and belonged on the Professional Practice Commitee and hospital wide Medication Safety Committee. My ideal position would be 20-30 hours and I don't mind commuting but am also flexible with the hours.
