Hello. My name is Emily, and I am hoping to find full-time or part-time employment as a summer nanny (I could continue part-time in the fall if that works best for you). I am a full time student at Kean University working towards a degree in Elementary Education. Prior to going back to school full-time, I spent over three years caring for three children who are now 9 (twins) and 5 years old.  I have continued to babysit for them from time to time when my schedule allows. Two summers ago I traveled to Italy as the nanny of three children (ages 4 years old, 2 years old, and 5 months). I spent three+ months with the children and their parents, helping to take care of the kids and keep their vacation running smoothly.   Last summer, I worked full-time and later part-time during the school year for a family Read more with 2 children (ages 3 years and a newborn).  For all these jobs I spent 10 - 12 hours every day filling in for the kid’s working parents. I saw to all their needs: cooking, laundry, cleaning up, transportation, homework, playtime, and special outings. Two years ago, I decided to go back to school full-time in order to pursue a career in Elementary Education. Ultimately, I want to be a school social worker.  I am now in my junior year and I am hoping to find work until September. I would be more than happy to continue part-time through the fall if needed. I have always been oriented to children, and have found this work to be very rewarding. I’ve learned that I am good at it as well. I am patient and able to set limits while keeping things fun and creative. I find it is a joy to be around kids. I am drawn to their positive energy and inquisitive minds, and I take great pleasure in helping them to learn and grow. Truly, I have learned much from my work with them. Thank you for your time.
