I just recently changed my career to something that I've wanted to do for over 20 years...... I became a substitute teacher for kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade and I really love the job! I had a backround test and I was finger printed, both of these are mandatoy in order to work in the school system. I took courses in college and I thought that was the direction I was going for, but for many reasons I ended up involved in a family business which was a restsurant. I did in fact like my job in the restaurant business but my passion was always to work with kids. I am still currently working as a substitute teacher, so my schedule is very flexible, I can pick the days that I choose to work, so that frees up my schedule and it would allow me to work the hours Read more that you are in need of. While in college, during the summer, I was a lifeguard, so I did have first aid and CPR training. I am currently renewing both at this time. I was also a swim instructor when I was twenty, I worked in Princeton and I taught five-year-olds how to swim. I loved watching their little faces light up when they accomplished what we were working on. This was one of my favorite jobs.
