Professional Experience includes over six years counseling in both publicly run and private programs. 4 Years at Rutherford Day Camp in Rutherford NJ: Ages ranging from 2 to 13 years with an emphasis upon seven to ten year olds. 2 Years at Lake Vu Day Camp in East Brunswick NJ: Both years working with fourth grade girls. Besides camp programs I have always sat for families many of whom I was introduced to during these summer programs. I have always felt great satisfaction from caring for children. When I was young I focused solely on care, the common example of a young person engaging a child through play in an effort to entertain them and watch them simultaneously, but during my college years I was afforded other opportunities. I volunteered in the Spanish Harlem After School program led by the NYPD. It was extremely rewarding to address the educational needs Read more of individual children and embrace the flexibility needed to meet the needs of each child. Unfortunately following graduation I forayed very infrequently in the realm of child care and I look to change that. One day I will have children of my own. Though professionally I am proud of my development I can't help but miss my interactions children. Specifically my brother and his wife gave birth to their first child six months ago and I can't help but offer my time to my nephew constantly. Children are the best of what we are, as a culture and a species, and the opportunity to care for them is a chance to pay it forward as well as great fun simultaneously.
