I have 4+ years of experience interacting and taking care of children, ages 4-13, in various capacities that includes babysitting, educational programs, and recreational programs and camps. These experiences have included helping children with homework, creating and participating in various activities such as arts and crafts, games, dances, etc. that fit the children's interests and needs, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe and fun environment for them to be a part of. I am currently Adult, Infant CPR and First Aid Certified by CPRSavers Training Organization that I received at my recent job as a Recreation Specialist at a domestic violence shelter. I have also acquired NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Food Handler's Protection Certification where I am trained to handle and prepare food correctly as well as the proper sanitation procedures for food establishments. During college, I have had extensive training in Early Childhood Education practices as a part of my employment with Jumpstart, Inc., an Early Childhood Intervention Program for low-income children. I love working with children because I want to help make a positive impact on a child's development of self since that is the foundation they carry with them into becoming successful adults in the future. I believe that every child deserves the support and encouragement they need during a time where they are learning about themselves and the world. I love that children are positive and active explorers of the world which makes it rewarding for me to work with them.
