I never received that message from a sister of Meghan's, nor was there any indication that I did. As for the mysterious "mutual acquaintance" who says that I am often looking for sitters, I have two things to say: 1. I frequently hire graduate and college students. Their schedules frequently change. Hence, I need to look for someone new annually or bi-annually. However, when we had full-time nannies, they stayed for, respectively, 4 years, 2 years, and one year (that position ended because my daughter started Kindergarten). 2. Don't spread gossip, especially untrue but even if you believe it, and don't badmouth others on public forums about third-party claims. It is unprofessional.

Meghan and I spoke at length about the position, and she said she was very interested. We arranged an interview. She canceled it at the last minute, was apologetic, and I said no problem. We rescheduled for the next day. She didn't show up. This was very perplexing, as we had really connected on the phone, and she said she was very interested in the position; we talked about how ridiculous it is that people don't show up for interviews, even. I called her cell to confirm the interview, and someone else answered it. I left a message to please call me. She didn't call back. I later left a voicemail to see if there had been a misunderstanding and make sure she was okay. She didn't return the call. Good for other potential employers to know . . .haven't heard back from this candidate since . . .
