I am currently applying to doctoral programs for physical therapy and am interested in pediatric physical therapy. I have experience with children of special needs, multiple disabilities, as well as specifically cerebral palsy. I currently perform undergraduate research at James Madison University where I help children with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities exercise on a device called, the Quadriciser (a passive exercise machine that moves all four limbs). After exercise I study their range of motion at the knee and shoulder. I also help transport the children to and from their wheel chairs, as well as aid in activities of daily living. I also have volunteering with children in Special Olympics and special needs children throughout high school. I am a very dedicated, hardworking student. I am a health sciences major at James Madison University, and also in the honors program. I have a GPA of a 3.8, and recently Read more attended a UVA Children's Hospital Conference on Cerebral Palsy. I currently work in the school library as a student library assistant, but I also have 3 years of experience in waitressing. I have babysat my neighbor's children for 8 years. My tasks included light housekeeping as well as transporting the kids to and from activities. I love working with kids, I am very innovative in finding things to do. I am also very responsible, and currently seeking out my CPR certification. Please contact me via phone or email if a position is available!
