Hi! My name is Acacia! I’m a kind and creative person who is always trying to learn something new. I love to play music, hike, write, read, and play with my dog and cat! The main passions driving my working experience and education are teaching music to young children, providing emergency medical care, and advocating for child welfare. I have a long history of working with kids including day camps, group classes, birthday parties, and private lessons. I worked at a Montessori preschool teaching music to classes of 12-15 kids and sometimes taught their dance and yoga classes as well. I also ran their birthday parties and kept large groups of children engaged throughout in addition to setup and cleanup. The day camps I worked at were all arts based and I got to help lead the kids through arts and crafts and put on a play. For a couple Read more years I worked presenting Child Assault Prevention workshops in schools and I plan on returning to that. I have about 2 years experience as a volunteer EMT. Currently I teach guitar, ukulele, songwriting, and voice lessons at Stone House Music & Repair. I have a college certification in Early Childhood Education and hold Basic Life Support and Emergency Medical Technician certifications. One of my favorite things about kids is getting to help answer their questions about how things work. I really love watching kids figure things out and the way their eyes light up when it finally *clicks*. I also really love their creative processes and to bear witness to the way their brains work. I’d be more than happy to help with homework and for an additional fee I could teach a music class! I’m looking forward to having fun with your kids and helping them learn & grow!
