Fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish, prolonged experience in impoverished nations, and a fervid desire to help improve and raise awareness regarding the multiple shortcomings of various nations. I firmly believe I would be an asset to a child's upbringing. I relocated to São Paulo, BR at the age of twelve and then to Montevideo, Uruguay at roughly sixteen. The educative experiences accompanied with the relocations, combined with the unique exposure and comprehension of human suffering, at a defining age, has eternally broadened my perception. Being an artist since the age of thirteen, I am a fanatic for details- most significantly regarding presentation and have a unique perception of colors. I have sold paintings since the age of fourteen. My intellectual curiosity was generated by an array of unique factors from a biological, environmental, and societal standpoint. My tenacity is most evident through my rejection of superficial answers on a given topic. I have always had a hankering for more of anything that I desired; a Brazilian proverb was frequently told to me “if I give you my hand you want my arm”. Working in fields that directly relation themselves with clients, I gained insight on how to diffuse a tense situation with volatile clients. I have learned how systematically assess individuals body language, facial expressions, slight alterations in semantics among other areas, that give social cues. I intend on majoring in psychology and cognitive neuroscience at CUNY. During my spare time, I read philosophical and psychological books, paint, write, attend museums, watch movies, among other activities. I find it imperative for not solely the parent, but also the caretaker of the child, to be well informed in childhood development; the psychological nature of how a particular environment + genetic predispositions can have a colossal impact on the child's adulthood.
