I have babysat for different families with children of all ages including infants. I have experience preparing meals, changing diapers, feeding infants e.t.c. I helped to manage and promote good behavior for a child with a learning disability. My internship at the Douglass Developmental Learning Center of Rutgers University has sparked an interest in supportive services for individuals with autism and communication disorders. During this internship, I learned different ways to guide children who may be struggling academically or socially towards success. I also learned about the various methods of treatment that may work for a specific student, whether he or she is verbal or non-verbal. Another opportunity I had was assisting a birthday party that involved all children with autism.
