Hello! My name is Emily Lavallee, I work at an Experiential Education non-profit headquartered in Newark called Project U.S.E. I coordinate STEM programs and food/garden programs throughout New Jersey, working with students from pre-school to high school. I live in Jersey City near the PATH, but I am originally from Franklin, Massachusetts. I have 4 years of experience summers working with children ages 6 to 13 years old at a sleep away camp on a lake in CT. As a counselor, I was responsible for planning numerous outdoor activities. Camp has given me the skills to understand a myriad of childrens' issues and how to deal with them in an effective manner. In high school, I spent 2 years working at the local YMCA teaching swim lessons to those 1 year old up to those 50 years old. I babysat for two families on a regular weekday schedule, and a handful of families for date nights. Children are a big part of my life; I love learning with them and from them.
