My top priority with children is to encourage creativity and imagination and I go out of my way to try and create a warm structured environment for the families I work with based on mutual respect and trust. I have a very outgoing energetic attitude that children really respond to and I have always had a love for childcare. I specialize in infant care but I have experience with every age ranging from newborns to 12 year olds. I have worked as a full time nanny in several different homes, the first being a live-in situation with a newborn, the next live-out with two children ages 1 and 6. This past year I worked part time with a few different families, the main of which has 3 children ages 1, 8, 10. And most recently I have had a temporary full-time job with a 4-9 month old that ends in Read more January. For these jobs I was responsible for pickups/drop offs, preparing meals, bath time, doing laundry, cleaning, setting up playdates and daily activities, and visiting museums and Chuck-E-Cheese. All experiences led to close friendships with the families, whom I still visit often. Though I’ve enjoyed working in both live-in and live-out nanny situations a lot of my experience comes from being a volunteer childcare leader in my church for 4 years during secondary school. My responsibilities included individually creating and teaching a weekly lesson plan to a group of 6-10 children and then biweekly my class would perform a song I had written and directed in front of a congregation of 200 people. The age group of my class would vary each year from 2-7 years. As I’ve always believed education is a top priority I was involved with peer tutoring throughout high school in History, English, and Math. Right now I am working towards my Psychology degree focusing on child development. I am exceptionally hard working, prompt and reliable. Families pride me on being very patient and calm. I love cooking, taking long walks and spending time outdoors going to parks and swimming. I enjoy dancing to music, playing instruments, playing games, reading stories, and creating artwork. I love animals, and have no problem helping with walks or feedings when needed. My schedule is super flexible and I am available to travel and work extra hours at request. I have a driver’s license. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I have experience dealing with special needs children including allergies, Down syndrome, Autism, and ADHD. My ideal situation would be with a loving family within the NYC area.
