I've always been around children. I've raised 3 of my own and cared for many children that weren't my own. The following is a list of my current qualifications & certifications: 1) CPR certified for adults, infants and children. 2) First Aid certified for adults, infants and children. 3) Federal, State background and national sex offender database background check clearance. Note: I have these background checks and certifications because I worked with developmentally disabled adults. Read more I was most recently employed by a non-profit social service agency. Consistent and continuous training were a part of that jobs requirements which absolutely sets me apart from other care providers. I worked extremely well with my amazing clients as a Independent Living Teacher and a Lead Janitorial coordinator. I was able to connect with my individuals on a personal level that encouraged emotional growth and learning, so they could lead more independent lives. It is important to have trust when working with adults who have special needs and are developmentally disabled because so many have experienced abuse and discrimination in the past. This exposure to these social issues has given me first hand knowledge and insight that has helped me connect more compassionately to our world. I have been taught many lessons throughout my years and have applied these lessons to my life. I pride myself on my ability to connect with people no matter what their background, personal circumstances, disabilities or age may be.
