Just moved here from Hawai'i. Most of my life I have worked in construction. I have been working towards getting a degree in early childhood education, with a minor in music. A year and a half ago I put school on hold so my son's mother could finish her degree in computer science (which is what brought us out here.) I have a beautiful 9 year old son, and been very active in his life. When he was younger the two of us would go to a parent interactive preschool. Surprisingly I was the only consistent father there. That was fine with me though, it was when I first realized how well I did with kids (when Gabby and I would walk in, all his buddies would yell "uncle!!" and run over to us.) When he got older I volunteered for his first and second grade class, and joined the Read more P.T.A. We moved from Hilo, Hawai'i to las Cruces about 5 months ago. His mom works at White Sands Missile Range, and he goes to school on base. Still get to help with homework, but can't really participate at his school. Originally I wanted to teach at a college level....but as I get older I imagine a career working with young kids, using music, and good sincere and simple basics to nurture their growth, and beginnings in education. I know I'm not the typical type of person you'd see applying for a job like this. Most of my experience comes from being the dad in our neighborhood back home, who would actually pay attention to kids that were often neglected and left to roam the neighborhood. Just thought I'd give it a shot :) More than happy to meet for coffee, or if you have any other jobs that you need help with.
