Hi! I'm Virginia. I'm 32 and live with my husband near downtown Albany, NY. I grew up in Niskayuna where my parents still live. I have a master's degree from SUNY Albany in Juvenile Justice and spent 10 years working in politics/government before leaving my last job this past April. I have a clean driving record and no criminal history. I'm open-minded and accepting of all religions and family compositions. I'm currently pregnant with our first child (yay!), and due in December so I'm looking for part-time or full-time, short term positions. I'm happy to help with household laundry, or other light housework while caring for your children, but my main focus is the kids! I love kids! And kids love me. I'm a big kid at heart and am able to understand their needs while also being responsible and enforcing necessary rules (safety first!). I'm an excellent swimmer and Read more former lifeguard (swimming was my main sport through high school), and I am athletic overall and love to be outside and play in the backyard. I also love to cook healthy delicious meals and love to bake from scratch. My mom is a retired art teacher so I'm fairly creative myself and enjoy art projects as well. I'm also able to help with educational activities or homework as necessary. I just got back from a week volunteering as a camp counselor at an overnight camp which is always so much fun! It is the camp I went to as a child and I try to volunteer there at least one week every summer. Typically my cabin is full of first, second and third graders but I've also worked with middle school and high school ages as well. In 2008 I spent the summer working at a GIrl Scout Day Camp. I myself was a Girl Scout until 6th grade. I have one younger brother and 2 younger boy cousins with whom I am very close so I have experience caring for boys as well as girls. I actually was a bit of a tomboy as a child. In 2014 while I was in between government jobs, I spent a year working for "A New England Nanny", a nanny placement service. Over that year I cared periodically for 3 year old twins, a 10 month old, an 18 month old, and family of 5 children, as well as numerous other children. I'm happy to come meet you in person so we can chat before beginning a position, but I'm also available last minute. Just give me a call!
