I was first given the task of helping to raise a child by my friend Jesse's sister. She had a child at 18 and was not on good terms with the father. But, the father's loss was my gain. Her son, Chandler, became the world to me. And as one of only two regular male figures in his life, I tried to make the world a better place for Chandler. I watched, played with, raised, and cherished him. He changed my life and made me realize I was meant to care for children. I'm sure they teach me much more than I could possibly ever teach them. I love the energy of children, the unbridled curiosity of children. And I've never been one to shrink from chaos. Haha. I'm a writer, but I can only create characters on the page.
