I am originally from Tampa, FL but went to school at The University of Alabama. I graduated in December 2013 with a degree in child psychology and human development and family studies. I moved to New York in February and took a job as a financial recruiter. I love the city, but am less thrilled about my current job. I am the type of person who needs fulfillment from their everyday activities and sitting at a desk all day is not where I belong. The happiest I have been in a job, is one where I am able to work with children. I have over 8 years of experience babysitting and nannying and have worked with children infancy to teenager. While at The University of Alabama, I worked for 2 years in the child development center as a substitute teacher working mostly with ages 2-4 (but have spent quite a Read more bit of time with infants and 5-6 year olds as well). I was a full time nanny for two summers for a family in Tampa with 4 kids ages 3, 7, 9, and 13. I became part of the family and still speak to them very often. Most of my time as their nanny was spent with the 3 year old boy. I made sure that even though we were at home all day, there was structure and stimulation. I like to plan activities, crafts, and adventures to keep the children stimulated and excited. I also was in charge of light cleaning and cooking as well. I enjoy being outside, arts and crafts, music, reading, and just being silly. In addition to this family I have experience with many different families and types of children. I also have ample experience with children with autism. I have multiple references on request and can renew my CPR certification if requested. Although I am still new to the city, I am quite good at getting around and have an excellent sense of direction. Am always negotiable on money for the right family fit.
