Hello, my name is Joe Pechie. I am a caring, active, patient individual, who has a strong background in education and looking after the well-being of children. I have recently received my maters degree in general and special education from SUNY Brockport and am currently looking for a full time teaching position in the New York City area. I am certified by the state of New York to teach social studies grades 7-12 as well as special education 7-12. I also have certificates in DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) and have sat through numerous workshops including: Child Abuse Prevention. Before working on my graduate work, I was the house supervisor of a residential in-treatment facility for at-risk males ages 12-18. Parts of my job included but were not limited to: looking after the well being of the youth, providing healthy and nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Read more keeping these boys active with sports, recreational activities, and arts and crafts. I also have experience working as a summer camp counselor for two summers and was put in charge of providing enjoyable activities for up to 60 campers as well as ensure the safety and well-being of these children. I have had vast experience baby-sitting and caring for my younger sibling, cousins, and friends on an as-need basis. I believe my sense of humor, caring nature, and ability to relate to children any age will serve me well as a future baby-sitter for educator for children.
