If you're looking for a fun-loving, caring, and compassionate babysitter for your family you've come to the right place! I possess extensive experience both babysitting and tutoring, which is great if you need someone to help out with both childcare and homework. My experience in babysitting ranges from caring for newborns to 12-year-old children. Moreover, my background as a tutor and teacher's aide have afforded me the opportunity to work with children with special needs. My philosophy is to provide all children with experiences that help to build and support skill development and confidence, and to have a lot of fun along the way! I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from CUNY Queens College. Currently, I am a graduate student at Teachers College, Columbia University. I am completing an initial certification program in Early Childhood Education and Special Education (Birth-Grade 2). I am certified in First Read more Aid from the American Red Cross. My hourly rate is flexible.

Earlier this year Alana took on after-school care of our three children, ages 7, and 3 (the younger ones are twins). She was responsible for pickup, play and care duties, preparing dinner, and of course the care and safety of our children. We couldn't recommend her more! From the start it was clear she had a naturally upbeat, friendly, and fun personality that immediately struck a rapport with our children. As educators, we value caretakers who will engage our kids' minds and creativity, and that's exactly what Alana did. They really loved playing with her in the park, doing creative projects, and playing games. She is also a very, very responsible caretaker and continually checked in to make sure she understood and was respectful of our family's rules and preferences. All in all, she did a fantastic job and we continue to invite her back to care for our children on occasion. She is highly recommended!
