Hello! I am an actress, teaching artist, and adventurer who has spent the past 4 years figuring out how to be a wannabe-New Yorker. I grew up in the magnificent state of Iowa and studied theatre performance at the University of Evansville in southern Indiana. I have been working with and learning from children of all ages in various capacities for over 12 years. As a freelance actress and teacher, I am always looking for part-time and last minute babysitting jobs to help financially support my artistic life. I have worked with children ranging from newborns to high school and college students. Since moving to the city in August 2012, I have worked with families as a date-night sitter, after-school nanny, and last minute fill-in. I spent almost 2 years as an everyday after-school nanny to two fabulous girls (ages 9 & 11 when I started). I was responsible for Read more school pick-up, homework help, transporting to activities (bus, subway, car), as well as occasional meal prep and puppy sitting/training. My first part-time nannying job in the city was for two girls, ages 2 years and 3 months. I am equally comfortable changing diapers as I am helping with algebra. In addition to babysitting, I've also worked as a counselor at numerous camps (ages 5-13), tutored grades 3rd through freshman of college (language arts, math, science), and taught private music lessons (piano, viola). I am currently working as a teaching artist in multiple NYC public schools, where I teach theatre arts class, both as a part of the DOE curriculum and in an after-school setting. I can honestly say I have learned as much from the young humans I work with as I hope they have learned from me.
