I first started babysitting my little brother when I was 12 for short times at home. I got my first actual babysitting job when I was 15 babysitting for a family friend for a few weeks in the summer then before and after school. I babysat before/after school and on weekends for other families around the community until graduating from high school. My junior year I started attending a tech center in an Early Childhood Education program where we wrote/taught lesson plans, planned healthy snacks, had an in class, hands on learning experience with children from the community. The teacher that taught the program asked me on many occasions to come into her home after school and even after graduation to babysit her two young children. After doing an internship in an elementary resource room my senior year, I graduated with a certificate in Early Childhood Education in 2010. After Read more graduation I chose not to go right to college to work and save money. I babysat for former teachers a few days a week and family members on the weekend. In February of 2011 my aunt asked me to come into her home and be her nanny. I started working for her in May when her son was 7 weeks old when she returned to work. I was with him 7 AM-5 PM Monday-Friday until he was 2 and a half when she had another child and decided to stay home.
