Hi, I am a loving, caring, crazy (fun) energetic 23 year College graduate. I love children and love caring for them. I worked for The Garvey School during the summer of 2010. Before I started working I had volunteered with Mrs. Sue Wigfall and Mrs. Nancy Udin. While volunteering with Mrs. Wigfall I picked up two boys ages 5 and 8; from 2009-2012, from school and assisted them with homework. From 2008-2011, I volunteered at M.S. 144 with Mrs. Udin. I assisted Mrs. Udin with mentally challenge students in the classroom. I started work at The Garvey School in the summer of 2010. I was a teacher's assistant to Ms. Jackson. I assisted children from age 1 to 5. In the morning I made sure that all the children were signed in and in their correct classroom. I also made sure they ate their breakfast and cleaned up after themselves. Read more I assisted the children in learning class materials for that day. I monitored nonacademic settings, such as the playground and field trips. Before I clocked out of work, I stayed and made sure that every child was picked up. Working at the Gravery School made me realize the love and passion I have working with children. From October 2014 - June 2016 I was a babysitter to a 4 year old boy. I fed him breakfast, dropped and picked him up from school, made sure he ate his lunch, and took him to his activities and play dates. In 2015, I was a Teacher's Aid at a daycare in the Bronx. I worked closely with children ages 4/5. I helped them wash their hands, read to them, helped with activities and supervision at the park. I also helped the teacher come up with lesson plans. I recently graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC- FEMA Corps where I worked along side FEMA personals responding to Louisiana floods and Hurricane Matthew. I am ready to get back to what I love doing most, and that is working with children.
