I have decided to become a babysitter after some careful thought about what I can offer to younger members of my generation. I grew up reading books until my little brother came along. I resumed my studies growing up, while taking care of him. (I still tutor him) When it comes to tutoring I try to be as efficient as possible while adapting to the needs of the student. I used to be a sitter for family friends and other family members, and I have a high school equivalency diploma since I was home-schooled for my last two years. (Purely out of choice, in fact, it was two months, but I say two years since I completed the last two years of high school in two months.) I however bring something else to the table, my transparency. Age is always a major factor in a child's perception of their caregiver, and a younger caregiver, one able to demonstrate responsibility and care, can be seen as a role model, equivalent to that of an older sibling. I like taking care of kids. If I didn't, then I probably wouldn’t have asked my parents for a little brother. (He is entering high school now, confident with his mathematical abilities after having tutored him. (Math was his worst subject.) Here I will simply list a few other things that I feel should be known about me or could be useful to know about me. - I am a musician, composer and writer. I play guitar, a little bit of piano, and I can tutor in music if requested. - I am very good with computers (having built my own custom rigs) and can teach a child to safely use a computer, as well as assisting in any other technological related issue or questions. - I am a writer, currently going through many revisions of my first book. (Know an agent? Could sure use some help here.) -I can cook. I will cook if it is requested, and will cook new dishes/try new recipes if requested. - As stated, I am a tutor as well, able to tutor elementary and middle school quite well. - I am bilingual! I grew up learning both languages. - I own a dog, German shepherd, had him since he was a puppy. I am very good with pets. Any questions? Ask away.
