I have been a caregiver for the past decade with children varying from infancy to teenagers. I would not trade my caregiver experience for the world because I am entranced by child development. I love my job because children never cease to amaze me with their growing minds and how they view the world. I think it is essential to provide loving security when the child's parents are at work/play. I have not, and will never smoke. I am comfortable with pets. I am not allergic to anything. I can speak, read and write in Spanish and English. I graduated from The University of Rhode Island with a Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies and with a double minor in Spanish and Leadership. I was also blessed with having the opportunity to study abroad to Spain to earn my Spanish credits. I am also looking to go back Read more to school to get my Master and during my time in NY I also look forward to earning a CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) . I currently teach 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade Reading with children who scored low in their Standardized Tests, so I know and have a lot of patience for children who may have developmental delays or struggle in school. I am very creative and believe kids learn better when having fun! I am a very outgoing, enthusiastic individual and know that the best way to care for a child is to just be very kind and nurturing. I am comfortable up to 4 or 5 children at a time, granted I have the room and resources for them. I have been in charge of 9 behaviorally challenged girls during my shifts as a Residential Caseworker at a group home in Rhode Island. I prefer caring for toddlers to 9 years old. But I can manage children at any age level. I have never been treated for any mental illness or depression. On the contrary you will find that I am always happy and pleasant!
