Hello! My name is Bessie and I am 30 years old.  I received my post high school education at Rutgers University, where I earned my Bachelors Degree of Arts.  I majored in English and minored in Spanish, which I speak fluently.   I have been an Assistant Teacher in a preschool for 3 years this June.  My students are 3-4 years old. I love teaching my little ones, it is so much fun and there is never a dull moment. I love watching kids discover and interacting with them. I also love the creativity of lesson planning, classroom decorating and creating centers. I have learned that children are love. They are kind, pure and filled with life. They want to make you happy, give you presents and surprise birthday parties, just to make you smile. I enjoy reading to children (funny voices are always included)!  I have always loved reading Read more and always strive to instill the same enthusiasm into my students.  I love children’s literature, and have spent way too much time at Barnes & Noble in the children’s section, but I think it is important to love a book yourself before you read it to children.  A personal favorite is The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson.  I like to create learning opportunities for children and have learned to do this in a way that is fun and engaging for them.  Board games for example; Count Your Chickens and Hoot Owl Hoow are favorites in my class.  Baking is always fun!  Although I’m no culinarian, there are few things more entertaining than watching a child make their own recipe for cupcakes.  In my spare time I enjoy drawing, reading, and recently, playing the piano again.  I took lessons for 10 years and stopped when I went to college.  I’m definitely rusty but I am enjoying playing music again.
