I have worked with kids in all spectrums of childcare, from education to recreation to basic care. I first started working with kids extensively my sophomore year of high school when I began teaching swim lessons to children varying in ages from 6 months to 13 years old. From that summer on, my passion and love for working with kids grew. I've taught swimming lessons to kids of all ages for 7 consecutive summers. Additionally, I have worked in a preschool classroom while doing an Americorps program called Jumpstart. In this program I had four children assigned to me, whom I met with twice a week to help enrich their speaking and reading skills preparing them to move into kindergarten. Lastly, for the past two summers I worked at a camp which was a 7 week overnight camp in New Hampshire. I worked on the waterfront where I life guarded Read more and taught swimming lessons to kids of ages 7 to 13 in the daytime. At night, I lived and worked with children ages 13-15. As a staffer, it was our job to help the kids live peacefully with each other for 7 weeks; teaching them how to interact with others, deal with conflict, be confident in their own skin and be all-inclusive.
