Meet Grace

• Comfortable with pets

As a teenager, I was a sitter for kids in my neighborhood in Carmel, Indiana, but it wasn't until this past year that I revisited caregiving as an adult and fell in love with the task. I am an actor who babysits on the side. I have a degree in Performance from Ball State University (summa cum laude) and have been living and working professionally in New York for the past five years. I currently sit twice a week for a wonderful family in Manhattan with three kids (6, 10, and 12), and it is in many ways a gloriously simple and fun weekly experience to which I constantly look forward. I do not mean to say that caregiving is simple - I feel the weight of the responsibility that has been given to me - but I had forgotten about the joys of spending time with children, their incredibly Read more rich imaginations and perspectives on the world are awesome! I'm a crafty person, so this part of my personality comes into full force with the youngest. I love to cook and read for and with all three of them, make art projects, listen to them talk about their days, and continue to learn about the various places they are in their lives. They, as well, teach me games and lessons and I enjoy learning from them. Childhood is a special time in a person's life, and I feel good knowing that, in my small way, I have a chance to make that time more safe and fun.
