My name is Felicia, a Latin name that means happiness. To sum it up quickly, happiness is what I am all about. I like to enjoy life's precious moments and find beauty in the simplest of things. Most people refer to me as an outgoing, positive, and caring person who is energetic and smiley. As an educator, camp counselor, and older sister, I am also very responsible and have an unwavering love for children that comes with a lifetime experience of caring for them. When I am not working with children, I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, and going on adventures. As an older sister to five incredible siblings, I have experienced my fair share of temper tantrums, dirty diapers, and apple juice spills from a very early age, but that is just a part of witnessing the beauty of a child growing. From the moment that I heard that I Read more was going to be an older sister, I gained the nickname "Mother Goose", a name that has stuck with me all the way to adulthood. I took my older sister duties very seriously and would help my mother take care of my siblings, tell them bedtime stories, and teach them everything that I was learning in school. It was through being an older sister that I realized how much I love taking care of children. In my teenage years, I started babysitting several children in my neighborhood and volunteered as a teacher aide in hopes of one day becoming an elementary school teacher. I then found myself at a college in upstate New York to make that dream come true. During my summers off from college, I have also dedicated my time to being a camp counselor and ensuring the best possible camp experience for all of my campers. I have recently graduated from Mount Saint Mary College with a Bachelors degree of History, a minor in Psychology, and I am finishing up my duel certification in Childhood Education and Special Education. As I continue to work towards becoming a teacher, I thought it would be good to become a babysitter once again. I can work any hours on any days of the week and come with years of experience, an educational background, basic first aide training, managing behavior training, and a nurturing heart. I am not one of those babysitters who sits on the couch while a child plays with their toys in the corner. If chosen to watch your child/children, I would constantly interact with them, take them on adventures if permitted, and ensure an educational, eventful, and entertaining day every day.
