Meet Tamara

My name is Tamara. I always loved working with children. Being the oldest of five, babysitting was something I did often. Working with my siblings and other children since the age of thirteen, I understand how important it is to nurture and help them grow. Currently I work at the Cooke Center for Learning and Development. Here we teach and cater to children who have many different physical and mental disabilities. These children have taught me patience, kindness and how to change my thinking to help others. In addition, through these programs, I have been trained in many different areas, including first aid and CPR, CPI (crisis prevention institute), and positive discipline and effective communication. I continue to work with children because I love watching them grow and reach different levels of potential. Children in my neighborhood are constantly underestimated. It is an amazing accomplishment to see them beat the Read more odds. Everyday I have a chance to take part in their growth. It is a privilege to be apart of that. This is what I would like to do for the children and families I babysit and work with. A past school year I babysat a seven year old during the evening on weekdays. I want to continue to push and help children to be their best. Babysitting would be a great opportunity to do that.
