Meet Meghana

I hold a Master’s degree in Sociology and have over the years gained a range of experiences which includes community outreach work with a special emphasis on childhood literacy. Originally based in India, I have worked with teams involving people from multiple countries and diverse organizational environments. I also had a chance to tutor two Korean students in Delhi for a year, where I put together a syllabus that included their school curriculum along with material that helped them cope with an English speaking environment. In between research jobs at a university, I spent some time on my independent research work and writing for a few months, along with which I had a chance to tutor children. Spending time with children and early learners was very refreshing during this phase. My most recent experience of babysitting for a few months in New York City for a 10 year old girl Read more was very enjoyable. Since I moved to the city only last year, taking her from school to her extra-curricular activities, or tuition to home has been a really fun way of navigating and knowing the city. This experience continues to draw me towards the field. I teach Hindi part-time at a language institute and I plan to audit a course once a week at The New School for Social Research in the Fall semester. I look forward to working as a baby-sitter the remaining days in the week.
