My availability is Friday evenings 430pm-12 am. Saturday and Sundays are flexible with day and night hours available. I am a full-time assistant teacher. I've been a special education assistant teacher for 10+ years and I currently work with kindergarten/first grade at the Cooke School and Institute in Manhattan. I’ve had child care, babysitting, nanny, and teaching experience with children 1 year of age up to 12 years of age. I have my English Literature bachelor's degree from Hunter College in Manhattan. I am currently enrolled at Hunter College for my graduate degree in teaching birth - 8 years old. I like to work babysitting jobs to help fund my college tuition. I have a great fondness for children with cognitive or developmental delays but of course, I love working with all children and of any age. I reside in Brooklyn. I am a native English speaker and I have Read more beginner to intermediate knowledge of American Sign Language. I consider myself patient, as I have had 10+ years of experience with Autistic children, children who have social/ emotional challenges, and global delays. Bodily functions don’t scare me. In my experience as a teaching assistant, I have spent a lot of time caring for kids with medical needs, potty training needs, and sick children. I am enthusiastic when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle and love to get outside and participate in any outdoor activities, whether it is a walk in the park, riding bikes, or playing soccer. I think it’s very important for children to be active as well as intellectually stimulated. I’m a big lover of literature and enjoy reading with children. I always encourage children to be curious and ask questions. I love to pretend play, drawing, painting as well as arts and crafts. I consider myself a hands-on caretaker who is not afraid to get down on the ground and play with children. My main goal is to provide a safe, fun, and effective learning environment.
