I am a freelance fashion writer with a career background in magazine editorial and women’s retail buying. I was a volunteer youth tutor once a week with Tutoring Chicago, working with a 4th grader on her reading and writing skills. I have over 15 years of experience caring for children of all ages, including infants. I began as a mother's helper when I was in 7th grade and spent my summers in middle school as a volunteer sports camp counselor at my neighborhood park district. I continued to babysit regularly throughout high school. From my sophomore to my senior year, I also participated in an after-school program, called Latchkey Kids, through my high school’s sponsored volunteer program. For this, I received a certificate for completing over 50 hours of community service. Following graduation and before leaving for college at Indiana University, I worked as a nanny for two boys, ages 5 and 7. I updated my CPR certification last year, 2014.
