Hello! I'm Vivian! I am currently an office manager at a tech start up in the NoMad area. I am a recent transplant to Harlem and am excited to meet families in the upper west and east sides. At work I take care of all of the office needs of about 90 vibrant individuals. You could say it's like babysitting but in a different capacity. I have been babysitting for years. I had one client I met on sittercity for about 2 years and still talk to them :) I am most comfortable with early school age children, as I know how to entertain them, how to diffuse situations, and how to have fun with them. My babysitting philosophy is pretty simple: We are here to have fun! I understand that being away from your parents can be scary, uncomfortable, and such and so I do try to turn the Read more situation into one that is exciting for them. With me settings and activities are tailored to them. However I love toddlers from 2 1/2 + years old. I aim to make them happy to get a break from same routine they have with their parents. I am here to do what they want to do, like a big kid that is also really responsible. I do not try to be negative with my kids, I just explain why they should/shouldn't do things. Knowledge is power and kids should know that. Every time I watch kids I like to have a plan, something to do, a trip to the ice skating rink, the park, lemonade stands, a movie, or something special they enjoy but not have gotten around to doing. Consequently I now know all the coolest kids spots around the city. Whenever possible I like to integrate these activities. On a rainy day we can always resort to making crafts indoors as this is one of my specialties. I love pets as I come from a pet home, I am a dog person but I like cats too. I am fluent in Spanish. I am also good at tutoring children and finding creative ways to appeal to their learning style.

Vivian has been an amazing sitter caring for our 2 year old, Genevieve. Genevieve screams with excitement every time she comes over. They often go straight to Genevieve's room to paint. No mess is too big and the house always looks like we left it, with some new paintings to hang up.Vivian finds things for the two of them to do in the neighborhood as well, taking her to the park and play spaces when the weather isn't great. For Genevieve's birthday, Vivian baked cookies for us and all of the kids, and brought water balloons which were a big hit. I would highly recommend her as a loving, thoughtful and caring sitter that your kids will have fun and connect with.
