I am about to graduate with my Masters in Social Work and looking for part-time babysitting work over the summer while I search for employment in the fall. During my graduate school fieldwork placement, I worked with children with mental health and behavioral challenges. Whether or not a child has emotional or behavioral challenges, I am a firm believer in offering emotional and social support to children that leaves space for their difficult feelings, fosters curiosity of their interests and creates environments for their personalities to thrive. Prior to graduate school, I nannied for two families for a year, one with a 3-month-old infant and one family with a 6-year-old and 3-year-old. I also regularly babysit for toddlers and school aged children for the past 8 years and have references I am happy to share. I am CPR trained and can provide my certificate. More about me: I live in Read more Carroll Gardens and love working with children. While in school for social work, I have developed an interest in child development and understand the importance of attachment and engagement with infants in their early years of development. I care about creating an environment that fosters stimulation and learning for children and infants including playing music, spending time outside, and exploring age-appropriate crafts and hands-on projects that foster curiosity and imagination. I love kids and truly value engaging them in fun and meaningful activities as much as possible. I'm a big fan of arts and crafts and creative/educational games. I love to bring along new games or simple craft projects with me. Sometimes simple surprises or fun new games can go along way. I'm happy to offer references and meet for an interview upon request. I am looking to work 2 to 3 partial or full days a week starting June 1, 2019.
