As the eldest grandchild of my maternal grandmother and grandfather, most of my caregiving experience came about very organically. As my aunt fondly recalls, I quickly adopted my first baby cousin, Ron Jr., and started calling him "my son" when I was at the ripe, young age of 4! (lol) As I grew older, I was then often responsible for babysitting, looking after and caring for all of my younger cousins as both a pre-teen and teenager. In high school, I would babysit our neighbors' children and and our church Pastor's daughter. And although college and law school didn't really afford me the time to babysit very often, I spent a great deal of my extracurricular time organizing and participating in various programs aimed at mentoring both elementary and high school students. For the last 10 years I have been intently focused on pursuing a traditional legal career; but since Read more June of 2014, I decided to make a enormous lifestyle change in order to focus more on my overall personal health, home life, and long-term life goals. This lifestyle change has now given me the freedom to devote more of my time to exploring some of the wonderful joys in life that truly make me happy. One of the most important and rewarding of those joys being: spending time with and taking care of children. Although I have yet to experience the joys of motherhood myself, I am the proud Godmother to 5 wonderfully amazing children! Jordan (age 10), Mason (21 months), and Wyatt (6 days) are the three children of my cousin. Carter (age 6) is the only son of my best friend, whom I have known since the 3rd grade. And Skyla (age 3) is the only daughter of my close friend and business partner. I feel honored to have been named their Godparent and my close relationship with all them definitely makes me look forward to the day when I become a parent myself. Since it will be another few years before my own bundles of joy come along, I've decided to devote a large amount of my time to helping other working parents care for their families. I do recognize that I may not have as much formal training or as many certifications as other caregivers, but I definitely have what I consider to be THE most important criteria in childcare: LOVE. :-) I was very fortunate and thankful to have been raised by an extremely loving and supportive family and it is my only wish to help play a small part in helping to care for your family as well. I look forward to interviewing with you!
