My name is Rhoda, I come from a very large family and have been around children all my life. I have 2 sisters, who were both premature: so at an early age, I learned to be gentle, sensitive and have patience. Since the age of 15, I've been taking care of infants, toddlers and preteens as a babysitter after school and during summer/winter vacation. In 2007, I started working as a teacher's assistant for a social skills playgroup in NYC. Working at the playgroup taught me how to create routine and structure for the children and teach them how to interact with others appropriately in a social setting through music, play and hands-on projects. Being with the children made me realize that I would like to work more closely with a child and be part of making a difference in their lives.
