Hello! My name is Grace, and I'm an educator and teaching artist currently based in Brooklyn. I have been working with children since I was a teenager as a camp counselor and babysitter, and moved into working in after-school care and specialist teaching roles within the last few years, working as a teaching artist at a children's after-school theatre program in 2019 (the program was closed due to COVID restrictions), and as a childcare associate at an after-school childcare center for the 2021-2022 school year. In May of 2022, I graduated from Hunter College magna cum laude, and began working through an agency as a substitute teacher at various charter and private schools throughout New York City in September of 2022; I just completed a long-term assignment as a maternity cover at an elementary school in Fort Greene. While I expect to continue substitute teaching part-time, I am looking for Read more a regular childcare job as a a sitter/part-time nanny to supplement my work. I have a recent background check with the NYC Department of Education, I am a certified Red Cross First Responder and certified in CPR for children and adults, and am also working on obtaining my certification for Youth & Adult Mental Health First Aid. I am also fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have received all available boosters. I truly love working with children and being able to aid in their social, emotional and creative development. I am currently available up to two days a week, for anything from school pickup to date night babysitting, and also throughout the weekends with advance notice.
