I grew up in a beautiful suburban town in Pennsylvania constantly caring for my younger brothers as both of my parents worked full time. Although I knew I had to be responsible, it was also extremely rewarding watching them grow into the well-rounded adults they are today. I loved reading to them and as we grew older, we enjoyed exploring nature and writing songs and developing our own plays. Most importantly, I was able to create a stimulating environment that helped them become excited about learning which I think combined with the right about of nurture is an essential part of growing up. When I sit for children, I find out what they're passionate about- whether that may be cooking or art or sports and I find ways to keep encouraging them. After I graduated college in 2013 with a degree in English and Anthropology, I moved to New York City to pursue a writing career. I soon learned that I should have become a teacher because I missed being able to teach my younger brothers new things. Now I'm looking to supplement my freelance work with and use my education for a meaningful position as an effective role-model and caretaker in a child's life.
