Hello! I'm Raven. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Biology. My long term objective is to obtain a PhD in cellular biology and teach the subject as a professor. I am the founder of a STEM program in our area in which I closely mentor a handful of youth and guide them as they explore the exciting fields of the sciences! In 2012 I volunteered with AmeriCorps and was placed as the Director of Science Education at a summer academic enrichment program. I was liable for a brilliant group of 91 youth aged 7-16. Through this experience, I learned how important it is to be a great listener and have an open mind. The students who came to the program with behavioral troubles often just needed someone to talk to and hear them out, or not being challenged enough. Although I was responsible for a very large group, I recognized that each child was unique and had individual needs. It was my pleasure to be involved with this program and it has remained my most influential experience as a caregiver and professional. This is why I would like to continue as a caregiver as I continue my education. Important Tidbits: I am CPR and First Aid Certified for both adults and children. I have a clean background and driving record. I do not smoke nor drink. I enjoy pets. I promote interactive activities such as board games, sports, or cooking (and much more). I do not use foul language. I have excellent manners and behavior, and will set a proper example for your children. I am a tutor and can provide homework help for the sciences, reading, and writing. Today I am a high performing scholar, however once upon a time I was a struggling student who needed help. I overcame many academic challenges in my college career, and ended as a Deans List student. Throughout those challenges I have acquired learning techniques that I happily share with other students.
