Growing up, I always embraced individuality. Being the odd one in my community- I didn't even have a birthday every year. In elementary school, while my peers circled their birthdays on planners, I made a separate box for February 29. Honestly, being a fourth of my age gets old -- even though I did fit the description, quickly becoming known as the SECOND shortest girl in school. I embraced the inevitable physical characteristics that play a role in “who I am,” but my short stature isn't the only thing that defines me. I have been working with children practically my whole life ( babysitting sisters and cousins). Professionally- I became an after school counselor at my old elementary school under the Samuel Field Y. Dealing with children of all ages from KG-5th I have seen my share of different types of behaviors. From my three years of working as a Read more counselor and tutor I can bolster a child's academic life as long as their social life... I am easy to get along with and I can adjust to any situation.
